West Virginia
Attractions
Did you hear the sound of cannon fire?
Oh, we didn’t mention that the General Lewis is located on the site
of an 1862 Civil War Battle, when a battery of Virginia artillery
was place in our backyard. Civil War and Revolutionary history lives
around every corner of our historically preserved town.
The main street of Lewisburg, Washington Street, is just below our
Inn. There, you can stroll through 5 blocks of unique shops - the
type of shops you would expect to find in Alexandria, Georgetown or
Williamsburg. Don't forget where you parked your car, because you
won't need it much after you arrive. Lewisburg, West Virginia,
attractions are just beyond our doors.
The Greenbrier Valley is one of the most culturally alive areas of
West Virginia. While on vacation, you may wish to attend a musical
performance at one of the three surviving Carnegie Halls in the
United States. The Greenbrier Valley Theatre is the state’s only
year round professional theater. Don’t forget to bring your sweater
because our evenings are always comfortably cool with no humidity.
The Allegheny Mountains have taken care of that.
Outdoor activities, such as mountain biking, excellent fishing,
canoe and rafting, and hiking trails are all here...
